5 Books with Amazing Female Protagonists

Hey everyone! Since International Women’s Day is coming up on March 8th I thought I would post some Book Recommendations which include female protagonists which I think are amazing! I love raving about my favourite characters!

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir 

I of course have to start with An Ember in the Ashes. Laia is the female protagonist and she is such a marvelous character. Throughout the four books, you can see Laia’s development from someone who doubted herself at every corner to a powerful warrior who will fight for what she believes with every breath. Honestly, I could hardly believe that Laia was ever timid because of how much she changes. She never waits on anyone to save her but takes her future into her own hands. 

I also love Helene with all of my heart she is my favourite character in the books but I will not go into details because of spoilers. 

You Should See Me in a Crown by Leah Johnson

I love this book so much! Netflix where is the movie adaption to this?! If we can get the Kissing Booth, we can get this adapted too. Liz Lightly is the main protagonist of You Should See Me in a Crown and she is just a ray of sunshine. She has shown her determination by putting her all into being accepted into her dream University. When she realizes that she can not afford to go she does not let that stop her and enters the Prom Queen Competition. Liz grows a lot in this book and comes out of her shell which is so great to see. 

Not Your Sidekick by C.B.Lee 

I never expected to love this series as much as I did when I read it last year. I have not finished this series yet but I am excited to continue. Jessica Tran is the underdog of her entire life. Her parents are the city’s superheroes, her older sister is a superhero prodigy and her younger brother is a genius while Jessica is just normal. Despite this, she removes herself from the sidelines throughout the book and proves that she is not just a sidekick but a hero. 

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han 

This series will brighten your day because of how cute it is! Lara Jean is a naive hopeless romantic who loves to bake and scrapbook. What I would give to eat her cookies right now? I relate to Lara Jean because of her love of romance. I would just love to be her friend. 

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

I appreciate how ambitious Dimple is and how she puts her goals first. Dimple wants to be a web developer and wants to put all her effort into it with no distractions. Honestly, when I was reading this book I was yelling at Dimple for all the dumb stuff she did but I still love her.
